“As we all settle into our new home, start new projects, meet new neighbors, continue old traditions and start new ones all while making memories to make our house a home…, you are the one person that is truly responsible. To tell our story for future shoppers, we were looking for a home within a time that the market was crazy. A low inventory, with many buyers, but even more investors. We were with a different Realtor for a while, and offer after offer we either were the “Good Back-Up Offer” or beaten out by an investor. It always seemed to be a bidding war, or cash at 100% talked coming from an investor. We went on like this for about seven months, but in total spent about a year and a half looking at homes. We were picky, we didn’t want to settle. We were looking in a specific area, a specific school district and had a certain price range to stay within. Disappointment after disappointment and seven months later we decided to take a step back. we did not feel that our Realtor was on-board for us. We did more of the research on homes and found new listings before he did. We looked at a few more houses going through the listing agents, but again investors won. At that point we decided to completely take a break. We needed it physically and most of all mentally. Working and having small children as well as many other factors going on in our lives while trying to house hunt was intimidating, depressing and most of all exhausting. A couple weeks afterward while talking with a friend, Dana Roquet’s name was mentioned, this friend said, “Just give her a call, you have nothing to lose” And so it began, the meeting to go over our wish list and making sure all of the loan pre-qual was complete. We were used to being the ones doing all the research on properties with our last Realtor, but with Dana, she was on top of things as quickly as we were. Within a couple of days we knew it was a good fit. She quickly began her research and within the first few days we were back at it again seeing houses. The market as mentioned above, did not change, but the Realtor had and she was in it to win it. After about a month of Dana on-board for us we got lucky. We were even up against investors and we won. We couldn’t believe it. We found a house to make a home, in the neighborhood we wanted to raise our children in, within the school district we wanted, and within the price range we were looking. Very hard to find these days but Dana did it. She worked hard for us each and every step of the way within the house hunting process, then continued to be fabulous, informative and prompt during escrow, as well as giving advise, suggestions and support. Plus it also helped to have a lending agent that is on top of things like Dana. Dana, thank you for changing the experience of house hunting and being successful from bad to good.
